Summer Camp is Back!
The last two years certainly have been a challenge. For Mechuwana, one of the biggest challenges was having to suspend overnight camping for two summers. That is why we are so excited to announce that this summer Mechuwana is once again offer overnight camping! For our first summer back, we are offering a limited summer schedule, but it is a Big first step back and we couldn't be more excited!
Along with our overnight programs, we once again will offer a full Day Camp program.
I am so grateful for everyone who has supported Mechuwana during this time. The sad truth is that many summer camps have been forced out of business. The loyalty to this ministry has been truly inspiring. Thank you.
God Bless,
Norm Thombs, Camp Director
Overnight Camps 2022
Because of COVID guidelines, we are having a smaller schedule than usual. We do have a full summer of camps. We were also able to bring back some very popular half-week camps for families and younger children. Space is limited so sign up today. Download brochure & registration form.
Middle School/Senior High Creative Arts Camp and Adult Special Needs Camp are full. No more registrations for those camps will be accepted.
Day Camp 2022
Last summer we had more than 300 day campers. This summer we will once again have a full schedule of day camps, but the number of day campers we can take each week will be reduced in order to make room for overnight camps. Families may once again sign up for multiple weeks. Download day camp brochure & registration form.
Day Camps weeks 3-6 are now full. No more registrations for those weeks will be accepted.
Download printable health forms for day campers, overnight campers, and adult campers & volunteers.
A Word about the Price of Camp
Mechuwana has always prided itself on being one of, if not the least expensive summer camps in Maine. This year we are faced with very dramatic increases in the cost of doing business. Large increases in utilities, insurances, labor, and food, plus the loss of almost all of our retreat group reservations from last fall and this winter/spring have forced us to significantly increase the price of camp. But we are still standing behind our pledge that no child will be denied a week of camp for financial reasons. Hundreds of individuals, churches, and agencies have given to our scholarship fund to make this pledge a reality. - God Bless, Norm
