Preserving the Past, Protecting the Future

Mechuwana Monthly Giving Program
Right now, Mechuwana faces its most serious financial challenge ever, yet we choose to face this challenge and come out the other side stronger and more secure than ever before. But we need your help!

The financial survival of Mechuwana is at stake. We must move quickly in order to ensure that camp remains open and is here for generations to come. You can help by making a monthly gift, to ensure that we have a steady income stream throughout the year.

1. Visit Simple Give, our online donation database, to make and manage your donation. You'll be prompted to set up an account to enable you to manage/update your gift at any time you want to make changes. To ensure that it is a monthly donation, be sure to check the “Make this gift recurring” box. This year has been such a difficult one for so many, and Mechuwana is no exception. The coronavirus pandemic shut down camp’s summer program, as well as spring and fall retreats and events. For the first time in our more than 70 years of operations, we were unable to hear campers laughing, watch them learn new skills, make lifelong friends, and share our beautiful spot on Lower Narrows Pond with them.

While we turned our focus this spring & summer to providing more than 50,000 meals for Maine families, we also realized that the financial impact for Mechuwana during this time was very serious. Mechuwana lost its income for the spring, summer, and fall. We have no idea how much more will be lost in 2021. It is likely we could lose more than $500,000 in revenue before next summer.

This is where you come in.

We are asking you to partner with us each month to provide a steady stream of income by becoming a monthly donor.

Having a steady monthly income coming in through gifts of $10, $25, or another amount from individuals and families who support Mechuwana’s program will help ensure camp's long-term sustainability. Help keep Mechuwana around for generations to come.
