Help
Mechuwana collect items for Camp Sizanani in South Africa. We have
partnered with this camp to provide items for their campers – youth who are
affected by HIV/AIDS. Many of them are orphaned because of HIV/AIDS and
others have lost family members – give them the chance to be children and
experience the joy of being at a camp with others. Please share this wish
list with others in your schools, communities and churches. And bring
your donated items to Mechuwana in February and March.
Help spread Mechuwana’s light to these campers!

Wish List
Camp
Sizanani operates largely on donated supplies. As a team, we can make more
forward progress. Some of the items that the camp needs are:
*Office supplies
These include
printer ink (HP-LaserJet 4+ toner cartridge), Dell 7Y743 (black) and 7Y745
(color) for Dell A960 printer, stamps, paper
*
Travel-sized toiletries
These include
little shampoos and soaps (like the ones you get from hotels), toothbrushes
and toothpastes, wash cloths, and bath towels. Some of the campers do not
have these supplies at home. As hygiene is an important life skill for them
to learn and take home with them, we try to provide them with a small care
package for their time at camp.
*
Board games
Board games
are wonderful for cabin-bonding, especially on the first few nights of camp.
Many of the children have never been away from home for such long periods,
and playing a cabin game is a great way to get all the children involved and
giggling.
*
Arts & crafts supplies
These include paints, paintbrushes, embroidery thread (for friendship
bracelets), beads, construction paper, etc. Please send all supplies in
their original packaging if possible.
*Sneakers and baseball-style hats
Gently-worn please! For the children who arrive without shoes, sneakers will
be indispensable during their Sports class, and the hats of course, are
needed for protection against the African sun. Please wash if either shoes
or hats have been previously worn.
